Kari Schroeder

 

As a manual therapist, Kari draws upon over 17 years of experience with elite athletes, injury rehab and chronic pain patients to improve quality of life, optimise health, and improve performance and recovery from injuries.  

 

Kari certified as a massage therapist, graduating from Boulder College of Massage Therapy (USA) in 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota (USA) and is also a Certified Integrative Manual Therapist and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She speaks frequently in industry forums on massage therapy, chronic pain relief, sports injury and holistic therapies.

 

In Kari’s work she collaborates with health professionals in different clinical settings to treat the whole person for lasting relief, and brings an informed and caring touch to client care. Kari utilizes a variety of modalities tailored to each client including Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Strain/Counter Strain and Orthopedic Massage, to obtain optimal results.

 

Kari has also received advanced training in Pregnancy Massage working extensively with pre/post-natal mothers to help relieve the discomfort of a rapidly changing body and the new repetitive movements of caring for a baby.

 

Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) became part of her repertoire after working at Balance Health.  This involved learning approaches to help clients find lasting changes for their health by addressing the primary underlying area of body concern.

 

Kari grew up in Hong Kong and has been involved with sports community here for over 20 years whether as a personal trainer, EMT, athlete or sports massage therapist.
